Carey Jansen: Coordinator
Carey joined Christ the King in the fall of 2015 after graduating from the University of Virginia and moving to Atlanta for graduate school. She is currently a third year MD/PhD student at Emory University. She previously served on the 20/30s Spiritual Retreat Team. As coordinator, she is responsible for guiding the leadership team and providing vision and encouragement for all activities our ministry puts on. In addition to the 20/30 Somethings, she is involved with the Small Groups ministry and the Parish Council and enjoys being an active member in the national Catholic Medical Association and the Society of Catholic Scientists. In her spare time, she enjoys hosting friends for cookouts in her backyard and adventuring with her husband, Patrick, and three year old Poodle, Smoltz (Go Braves!) AJ Alix: New Member Outreach
AJ is a high-spirited, fast-talking entrepreneur with a passion for connecting people. He's a first-generation college grad who is always excited to make new friends and help others. Upon graduating from Georgia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering, AJ co-founded a company that is actually still in business. Fun facts: AJ has four sisters and no brothers, has a blackbelt in several forms of martial arts, and consistently raves about Dynamic Catholic's vision to re-energize the Church. AJ helps out with our new member outreach as well as getting new members connected into our community and church.
Richard Kaiser: Pack Kenny Hall Co-Chair
Richard has been a involved at Christ the King as a parishioner for the past 2 years. After a brief stint pursuing a tumultuous child modeling/acting career while growing up in Roswell, GA, Richard has spent his post-college years in Atlanta and San Francisco in marketing roles at tech companies. Richard loves the great outdoors, tennis, The Secret World of Alex Mack, and wishfully hoping Kirby will turn things around at UGA, his alma mater. Richard works with Aubrey to plan our monthly Pack Kenny Hall adoration hours.
MaryAubrey Toole: Pack Kenny Hall Co-Chair
Aubrey moved from California to Atlanta 4 years ago for graduate school at Emory and she’s now in her final year (fingers crossed!) of training to become clinical psychologist. Aubrey is a big fan of spiritual books and podcasts, yoga, poetry, live music, deep talks, re-watching The Office and Parks and Rec, and anything to do with Italy. She also loves to sing and coordinates the music for our monthly adoration hours.
MaryMary Gray: Discipleship Night Co-Chair
Mary originally hails from Boston, but she has called Atlanta her home since moving down south to study business and English at Emory University. She very happily joined Christ the King in spring 2015. She works as a strategy analyst in the revenue management department at Delta Air Lines. Mary serves on the outreach branch of the CTK leadership team, where she is responsible for welcoming new members and creating ways to integrate new and existing members into closer community. In addition, she is is a Eucharistic Minister, Small Group coordinator, and avid event-goer. She enjoys going to the beach, reading good books, and trying out new recipes.
Claire Lollis: Discipleship Night Co-Chair
Claire is a new resident of Atlanta, having moved into the city in January of 2017. She moved to Newnan, GA after marrying her high-school sweetheart, Matthew, in June 2016. She and her husband both work as engineers for Southwire in Carrollton, GA. When not commuting to and from work, Claire enjoys calligraphy, exercising, and watching old movies with her sisters. Claire and Matthew also serve Christ the King as leaders for LifeTeen's Discipleship Core group and volunteers for Atlanta's Engaged Encounter Ministry. As a 20/30s Discipleship Night co-chair, Claire works with Mary and Hope in organizing monthly catechesis to nourish us in our Catholic Faith.
Hope Patrick: Discipleship Night Co-Chair
Hope is so excited to be on the CTK leadership team! She grew up in Norcross and went to Valdosta State University for college where she majored in International Business. She is a huge fan of Taylor Swift, Harry Potter and anything pink! She currently lives in Buckhead and works for Mud Pie corporate. Hope works with Claire and Mary to organize monthly discipleship nights.
MiaMia El-Hamaki: Discipleship Series & Retreat Co-Chair
Mia El-Hamaki graduated from Furman University in 2015 with a degree in Sustainability Science. A sustainability analyst position with Cox Enterprises brought her to Atlanta, and thankfully, Jesus brought her to CTK soon after. Her life's adventures consist of learning to cook, finding the perfect ENO Hammock spot, attempting to navigate traffic with a smile, and watching Ted Talks in coffee shops drinking tea. She also loves music, but who doesn't? As a 20/30s Series + Retreat co-chair, she is responsible for discipleship series and retreats with Joanie.
MiaJoanie Santander: Discipleship Series & Retreat Co-Chair
Joanie Santander graduated Georgia College & State University in 2014 with a degree in Business Management and today works in Communications for the Archdiocese. After briefly moving away, Joanie returned home to Georgia with the prospects of marrying her now husband, Jorge. She also serves as the Kick-Off Chair for CTK Small Groups, Webmaster for Pope Francis Children’s Home & School, a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and sings at the CTK Lifeteen Mass. In her free time Joanie enjoys a good sci-fi novel, and throwing pottery. Joanie works with Mia as the Series + Retreat co-chair.
JoeJoe McDonald: Social Co-Chair
Joe studied Aviation Management at Auburn University and currently works in the airline industry. When not working, you can find him at the local airport, ballgame, or just relaxing with friends enjoying life. He is very involved with the 20/30s group and works with Joey to plan 20/30s social events. Together they provide opportunities of fellowship with happy hours, sporting events, and trips.
Joey Comerford: Social Co-Chair
Joey is an Atlanta native and lifelong Christ the King parishioner. Having graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Entrepreneurship, he now works for a capital firm. Joey enjoys large groups of people, petting dogs, and laughing with clergy. To him, tacos are the paramount of food innovation. Joey works with Joe to provide opportunities of fellowship for the 20/30s.
Rachel Wernert: Service Co-Chair
Rachel graduated from Georgia Tech in 2012 with a degree in Business and currently works as an IT Project Manager. She is passionate about fitness and enjoys running and staying active. She also loves to travel and explore new places with her family and friends. Rachel works with Nick to organize volunteer opportunities to support the parish and other organizations within the Atlanta community.
NickNick Dellasega: Service Co-Chair
Nick is originally from Kansas and was transferred to Atlanta in February, 2015 for his job in the oil and gas industry. He attended college at Pittsburg State University (PSU) in Southeast Kansas, and is currently the PSU Alumni Association president. Little known fact about PSU is that it is the only NCAA school to have the mascot of a gorilla. In his free time, you can find Nick participating in pretty rting event. Most recently it is tennis… so if you want to play, let him know! Nick’s number one goal is to someday be a saint! He helps to organize our service events with Rachel to support the parish and other organizations within the Atlanta Community.
Kathleen Loesel: Communications Chair
Kathleen came to Atlanta from Virginia in early 2017 looking for work in the film industry. She came to CTK looking for the sacraments and for Catholics, and has happily found both! When not at work, Kathleen is probably somewhere looking for sunshine, art, Truth and good company. She manages the group's social media, newsletter and communications.
Charlie Sumner: Technology Chair
Charlie graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Software Engineering and currently works as a software developer. He enjoys spending his time being outside, hanging out with friends, and of course, watching Auburn football (War Eagle!). He provides technical assistance with the website, email blast, and our social media platforms.
